There Was No Little Wheelchair For Their Child So Look What They Built
Parents wisely used the Internet and with their own hands created a mini wheelchair for their 13-month-old daughter who was paralyzed because of cancer. They claim that now she is unstoppable. Evelin Moore was only 4 months old when she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma tumor in the fourth stage in the spine. She was brave and passed the eight chemotherapy treatments, but after her parents Kim and Brad got the happy news that the cancer was in remission there was another shock. The cancer damaged her spine and Evelyn was paralyzed from the hands down. Their heart was broken once again.
“You go home and cry, and then you come back and you’re the strongest you can ever be” – said Kim.
Doctors recommended Kim and Brad to encourage their daughter to crawl with her hands and to drag her body until their second birthday, but they did not like the idea.
They wanted their child to be able to move just like any other children and Kim started to search the internet and was delighted when she discovered an article on Pinterest about making a mini wheelchair.
“I scrolled on Pinterest and found a very cool wheelchair. I showed it to my husband and asked him if he could do it “- Kim explained. They bought the necessary materials and for $100 and one sleepless night they made the wheelchair. Evelin started to use the mini wheelchair when she was seven months old and now nothing can stand on her way.”
At first she moved backwards, but eventually she learned to move forwards. She even knows how to spin. She moves so fast and she is unstoppable. Kim also added that all people are positively surprised and they treat her as any other child.
“Do not treat them differently; she is the same as the other children. She just does things differently. That’s all. “- said Kim.”
The will that she has makes her able to adapt to the situation and this is something that we never expected.
Nothing can stop her, “- said the father Brad, adding that he wanted Evelyn to grow up knowing that she can achieve everything he wants.
